Photographer.

Greetings bloggers,

This week on Wednesday a photographer came into our school which made our morning break time longer than usual. My friends and I were playing volleyball while he took photos, and at the end of the game we gathered together in a group and took a photo.

When all the students went to their classes their teacher discussed with them which class they will be going to. Then after lunch we returned to our normal class.

Creating Graphs

Kia ora bloggers,

This week in Kowhai we have been learning about a range of Graphs.

We learnt how to draw different types of graphs on a Chromebook and drawn on a book. We gathered information from our books and used it in our graphs, and for every graph we used the same information but in a different graph.

Blessings and Openday

Greetings Bloggers,

This week on Thursday our school Wesley Intermediate had a lot of things we got to do, which was blessing our classes and having an Openday in our school.

In the morning our school gathered together in the hall to greet some guests from Wesley Primary and Mt Albert Grammar. We sang some songs then went on as a school to bless our classes. We walked along the hallways upstairs and downstairs. During this day we also had an Openday where Parents or caregivers visited our school to decide whether they want their kids to join our school.

Character Biography

Kia ora bloggers,

Today WALHT write a Character Study.

We had to research or read about our character to learn more about them, afterwards we answer the questions. The character I chose was Lilo, from Lilo and stitch, and our class also did a Character Study on Popeye. My class Kowhai got a chance to watch videos about Popeye to get the answers to the questions.

Complementary and Supplementary Angles

Greetings bloggers,

This Term my class and I are learning Supplementary Angles and Complementary Angles. We learnt that Supplementary Angles are any angles that add up to 90 degrees (which are Right Angles.) For example 40 degrees and 50 degrees are Supplementary degrees because they add up to 90 degrees. Complementary Angles are angles that can add up to 180 degrees (Which is a Straight Line), like 100 degrees and 80 degrees because they add up.

An easier way to remind you what Supplementary and Complementary Angles are is that the ‘S’ in Supplementary can stand for ‘Straight Line’ and the ‘C’ in Complementary stands for the corner in the Right Angle.

Angles

Greetings bloggers,

Today we learnt about the four main angles which are a Right angle, Acute angle, Obtuse angle and Straight Line. We learnt how to tell the angles apart just by looking at them.

A Straight angle are always 90 degrees and anything below 90 degrees is called an Acute angle. Anything above 90 degrees but below 180 degrees are called Obtuse angles. And a Straight angle are always 180 degrees. Reflex angles are the opposite of Obtuse angles, they are anything below 359 degrees and above 179 degrees and a Full rotation or circle will always be 360 degrees.

Blog comments

Kia Ora bloggers,

Today we were practising how to make quality and respectful comments on peoples blogs. We also learnt how to make our comments more interesting by adding thoughtful, positive and helpful comments to show that we can relate.

This is my first time with scratch, hope you enjoy.

Grounded- True or False

WALHT: Identify the mood of the story.

Greetings, my name is Mia I am from Wesley Intermediate in Auckland.

Today me and my group read a story named Grounded, and had to come up with three statements that could be true or false.

I enjoyed my time doing this task because I wanted to trick my friends and see if they have actually read the story.

From these statements i could see the girl in the story was feeling anxious and regretful, while her father was feeling angry.
